DePalma's Marnie: overlooked, underappreciated. There's more here than meets the eye. Travolta is outstanding in a compelling performance with echos of Vertigo. Nancy Allen's performance was often unjustly criticized. She plays a ditzy dame, but still mines a thinly written role, finding sweetness, warmth & humanity in Sally.
Some stunning visuals & process shots. The last 5 minutes are not to be missed -- will rip your heart out.
Isn't this the film where some Philadelphia location footage mysteriously disappeared?
