Kenji Mizoguchi's UGETSU is a terrific film about the cost of chasing selfish desire, to both one's soul and those around them. It might be one of the finest examples that wealth is nothing unless it is shared with the ones you love cinema has to offer. Simple, haunting, and utterly fantastic.
