Rise of the Imperfects(in other words, everyone dies.)

:rotten: Just to say, I'm not a comics fan, so if I say anything wrong about a character, forgive me. When I see a comic game, there is usually a light side to them, but this game is probably the darkest comic game out there. Basic plot, you are trying to kill all the Super Hero's...Preety dark huh? But that doesn't make the game bad. MN has some real nice elements to it. Such as the unique art design for the character's.Speaking of characters, the characters are seperated into 2 groups, The Imperfect, and The Marvels. The style brings out the real comic feel in the game. The graphics arn't gonna win any awards, but the graphics add more of dark feel to the game. Level Design isn't all to good and there isn't many levels for that matter. The good news is that everything in each level is throwable. This makes every match different than the last. The gameplay is fast pace and the cut sence are very eye catching. And to some people, the most important thing is the difficulty. I'll tell you one thing, it's not as hard as Tekken 5. Seriously though, it's not that hard. A few matches will take you more than one try, but the best part of this game has to be the versus mode. Each battle you have acctually makes you think that it could happen(Im not talking about the Imperfects or the Mutants.) Every fight is fast and swift to make almost every battle come down to the wire. I clocked in at about 14 hours and 25 minutes, so this might be a game you just wanna rent, but if you are a hardcore Marvel fane and EA fan, buy this game by all means.

This game is fun and I like dark, but a big problem is that after you beat the game, there's not much replayablity here. And because of that I dock you one point. And what really makes me mad is that this was a great idea, but it came out with bad results. I give you a web-slinging, not so fantastic, mutant score of 5 out of 10

Fun Fact: This game is better on the Gamecube.

    Shaolin Monks gone mad!

    Posted on 10/10/05 04:10 PM | Last edited on 10/10/05 04:06 PM

:fresh: Can you guys belive it? I mean a good MK side story! This is one for the records books folks. Welcome to the world of Shoalin Monks where there isn't a single one on one battle in sight, and I know that makes some of you MK fans mad, but don't give up on this title yet. There are many things in this game that have never been in a Mortal Kombat game before. And this whole game is something a MK game has never had before. the game is "basically" a side-scrolling fighter. This one though adds a good amount of Panache to its genre. One of the cool features is the endless combo meter...ok I mean like it's not like square, square, square....square, see what i mean. The combo on this game is more like square,x,square, triangel,x,x,x,square, circle, triangle, circle, square,x, ETC. And also for the first time ever(and I thought id never see the day) there is a co-op mode. Yes I said it, a co-op mode, and not only is there a co-op mode, it's one of the best iv'e ever seen. They have a really cool system that alows you and a friend to make a uber amount of cool combo's. This combo system makes every move fluid and smoooooooooth. I personally like that in every part of the game, there is a secret to be found. Anyway, this a solid side-scrolling action game with a good story and alot of information on the characters. I give Mortal kombat:Shoalin Monks, a Fatal score of 8 out of 10....FATALITY!!!

Fun Fact: There are over 50 different Fatalitys.

    "Shadow of the Colossus" Review

    Posted on 09/21/05 06:34 PM | Last edited on 09/21/05 06:30 PM

:fresh: Most games in 2005 haven't been all to good, but "Shadow of the Colossus" Reminded me why I'm a gamer. There are going to be bad games you buy, good games you buy, and then there are those games you buy that blow you away. The team that created the criticaly acclaimed "Ico" Brings us another show stopper.(In a good way) The Graphics in this game are top knotch, and the graphics them self are very unique. The plot is easy to follow and very interesting. The combat is basic, Power up your hit, then stab, pull out arrow, then shoot, but you won't care about how simple it is when your taking down a gigantic monster. Now that i'm on the topic of the monsters, i should tell you ther'ry called "Colossi". These Colossi are absolutly Jawdropping. Each one with specific attacks to bring you down, and a specific pattern for you to bring him down. It's sort of like a puzzle, but once you solve the puzzle, it's time to pick up the pieces. Load times are also incredibly fast! I mean like Lighting quick guys! The only letdown in this game is that the Colossi is all there is to fight here. No other people to kill, no other submission, This is the only "boss battle all it be" game. Still, the only competion this games got is the upcoming Resident Evil 4 and Okami. Right now, this is the best PS2 game of 2005

I tip my hat to you Sony. you've made me a happy gamer :)
