9/10 Again, like in Great Expectations, the usual positives are there, but the strongest aspect of this Dicken's adaptation, besides excellent performances Guiness as Fagin, Newton as Sikes, and Davies as Twist, is the beautifully grim, Black & White cinematography. This is one of the bet B&W movies I've ever seen. Each is perfectly lighted and the camera is alwauys in the right place. |
