All the characters in this movie think and act as if it's the 21st century; in this too contemporary miss mash of a film. The diction, mannerisms, Hair & appearance(Downey) clothes(improper cut)and sexual roles are all wrong. This is a complete farce to the legacy of the original Sir Arthur Conan Doyle classic work. The main purpose here seems to be "cool" and "hip" and scrap any remotely realistic portrayal of life in 19th century London.
Another worthless movie that should never have been made. I guess Madonna had one great prenuptial agreement. So we get this shameless venture for monetary purposes.
I only wish I could rate 0%!
For any Sherlock Holmes fans who desire a more realistic experience done correctly and(IMO)the best ever done; see Jeremy Brett. Brett's Sherlock Holmes in the 1984?94 series of Granada Television films, adapted by John Hawkesworth and other writers from the original stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle are superb!
