My Favorites of 2009I've listed my top 10 favorites for 2009, which I believe by the end of the year will be one of the best years in film we have had in a long time, maybe in a decade. The first 5 are interchangeable as I love them all equally. I don't expect this list to stay the same, as I believe "Up in the Air", "The Lovely Bones", "The Road" and a couple others to crack the top 10. The films I have below are other 2009 films I've seen and their grade. Zombieland [B+] A Serious Man [B+] The Hangover [B+] Ong-Bak 2 [B+] I Love You, Man [B+] Extract [B+] Law Abiding Citizen [B] Drag Me to Hell [B] Taken [B] Antichrist [B] The Box [B] Public Enemies [B-] Bruno [B-] The Collector [C+] Angels and Demons [C+] Terminator: Salvation [C] Friday the 13th [C-] The Last House on the Left [D] |

Favorites of All-TimeThese are the 10 films I love more than any others. I think they are all masterpieces and they are films I can watch at any time, I don't have to be in a given state of mind. Even though I own them if I run across them on television I stop and watch, they are simply that good. That being said this list can change. If you take a look at my top 5 films of 2009 I think after some repeat viewings any one of those could crack my all-time list. |

I am digging your list (grades?) and I couldn't agree more. Well, I would bump Hurt Locker up, but otherwise totally agree. And why oh why did you see Last House on the Left? Blech!

Thanks. I thought The Hurt Locker was a good solid movie, but at times melodramatic. As for Last House on the Left, I don't have an answer for you...guess I thought I'd see how it compared to the original.
