Spider-Man 3.

Spider-Man 3. One of the most anticipated movies of the summer, of the year. How does it rank? Poorly. The movie tries too hard to impress fanboys and everyone else. It's riddled with cheap humor and cheesy lines. And the script is downright terrible.

Had the movie focused on one of these villans, or even just two, we would have had another amazing Spider-Man. I would say, Sandman with a small, small part with the Green Goblin. Sam Rami obviously was going for the "Bigger is Better" idea. As the action sequences are amazing, and the only captivating part of the whole film. The effects are superb.

However, Spider-Man as a whole, faulters. There are too many sub-plots. Too many villans. Too much crying. Too much singing. And way too much dancing. I was extremely disturbed at the scene where Peter walks down the street struting. I can imagine it was put in for the humor? If it wasn't and there was another reason, then it seriously failed. I felt awkward just watching it. Another problem i would have to say would be Emo Peter. When i saw the film, i saw it in a sold out theater, and everytime Emo Peter showed up every single person laughed. I can see what Sam Rami was going for, but it was poorly executed.

Lastly, there was little to no development of the Villans, or even Gwen Stacy. Gwen seems to be thrown in there just to cause drama, as she completely disapears after the dancing. And is only there to upset M.J. It would have worked, had we gotten some characterization. Harry's motives had already been set, so nothing necessary there. The Sandman was addressed, briefly. And Venom was barley even given screen time. If anything, Venom should have been saved for the 4th flick. Because Sandman could've carried the movie. Then the last scene of the movie you get Venom crashing into the park.

There is way too much in this film, and it doesn't work. Spider-Man 3 crumbles under public pressure. I don't recommend this film, One and Two are much, much better. Rent those and have a night in.
