My electric bill for the last month was over $200. Ouch, dammit! I honestly think it would bother me less if I hadn't just seen "Enron: the Smartest Guys in the Room" recently, and couldn't still hear those jackals laughing about raping California through their utility bills.
Saw a film called "Expiration Date" screened on the side of a mausoleum at the Hollywood Forever cemetary. On the way out, I saw Mel Blanc's grave marker. It really does say "That's All Folks!"
Read the first book ever written by Robert Heinlein, called "For Us, the Living". It's less of a story and more of a string of lectures on econ, politics, religion, sociology... all fitted (awkwardly at times) into a framework of a tale about a guy who wrecks his car in 1939 (when the book was written) and wakes up in a similar body, in 2086. He actually had an event similar to 9-11, happening in 2003. (cue: eerie music)
Have been shopping for clothes. yay!! :D I've gotten a few shirts, some cool herringbone trousers femmed up with a big silk bow at the waist and three pair of shoes.
Saw and LOVED the film "The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada". It's gorgeously written and the photography is also beautiful, and a surprising performance from Tommy Lee Jones.
Oooh, pretty leaves... I have no idea what my electricity bill is...just a sec. Okay, looks like it averages $100 a month, and that includes my dishwasher and washer & dryer. I haven't read that Heinlein book, but I have about 30 of his books. They vary in quality. I have bought a few bits of clothes, but am holding off till I see where the weight loss ends. I want to see "Three Burials"! I'm waiting for it to show up on the movie channels.

wow... we don't use the dishwasher and the washer and dryer are not in our apartment... though I wouldn't be at all surprised if they've found a way to bill us for their usage anyway. That Heinlein is the only one of his that I have read. I kept thinking of you, because I know you're a fan. I read it because this guy I know mentioned having been involved in getting it published. There's a fair bit in it about Heinlein's political dabblings that I found pretty interesting, in the way they i
