How didn't they see what they were making 10 minutes into the first episode? Acting without direction and direction that has no action.. You name it and chances are that flaw is in here. Worst screenplay with the most amateur horror/thriller movies that makes its characters do obvious stupid things to move the plot along can fare much better than this. Actors by default don't seem to be that bad, looks like they were asked to perform like this. Instead of holding the entire season in a plot, they went with plot by episode with a loosely strung big picture. Both didn't work. In a nutshell, they had it all. The big budget, the production house that can get you anything, experienced overseers, an interesting premise etc etc. To screw it up for 13 long episodes with no one noticing the crap that it is getting generated makes me rethink about the effective Hollywood corporate structure.

The year is 2149 and the world is in chaos. The air is too polluted to breathe and resources are too scarce and costly for a normal person to afford. Some scientists find a crack in the time-space and discovers a ability to travel back to 85 million years ago but there is no way back and so they decide to send pilgrimmages to start fresh. Thus goes the central focussed family 'the Shannons' on the 10th pilgrimmage. The civilization setup by the previous pilgrimmages is called Terra Nova and is being monitored and supervised by one Commander Nathaniel Taylor. There is also rebel group that came in the 6th pilgrimmage with a hidden agenda. They are nicknamed sixers. The story follows the Shannon family where the mom is an accomplished doctor and father a cop with super power like instict a teenage son who always rebels against the father, a nerdy teenage daughter and another little one.

Every single stereotype of a family driven drama is exploited in the worst possible way. The special effects are highly inconsistent. In one shot it looks like a current day A list movie, next minute it becomes a 1970s B-Movie. If you just give this movie's idea to a 10 year old, chances are he might come up with better plot twists and characters. It will be a huge achievement if they can renew their contract for another season.

What could have easily been the show to make us forget Lost, gets totally lost.
