Well Wim was sick for the first time in years. Our American germs finally brought him down. We spent all weekend watching Halloween movies on cable. Saturday during the day I watched part of the Goosebumps marathon. OMG some of those episodes are so lame. A few I thought had potential to be scary but they usually have such cheezy effects. I watch them because I can't handle scary movies and these are sometimes just fun. 95% of them are about some kids that do something asinine against their better judgement.
There is always one kid that's like, "I don't think we should go into the evil ghost cave, or I don't think we should eat that pulsating green goo..." but there is always a second kid that is bored or calls the other one "chicken".
*rolls eyes* So wrong. Anyway it was quite the exciting weekend.
We also watched the SCI FI channel's movie called The Headless Horsemen.
It reminded me a lot of the movie Wrong Turn complete with inbreeds and lots of screaming. One of the girls looked like Winona Ryder in Dracula, so we both predicted she would make it to the end of the movie.
The movie had a lot of riduculous horror movie type stamples. At one point there is a girl in braids with super tiny hot pants and a half shirt. Even though it's cold out and everyone else has coats on. She lures them into the inbreed town by telling them she would "help them". Of course the guys fell for hot pants girl, but what about the 3 girls? What was their excuse?
Also they got picked off one by one. For some reason the horseman needed 30 minutes between heads. hehe So lame. No one had sex in the movie, so it must have been a "family" movie. The story is basically 7 college students are driving to another city for a big Halloween party. They are in a van that one of the guys borrows from his Dad. They get lost and accidently drive over this tiny bridge and onto a bear trap that messes up their tire. They don't have a spare, so they look for help. That's when the hot pants girl shows up and takes them to the headless horseman's town.
If you like that kind of thing it's midly amusing.
Let's see we also rented Meet the Robinsons.
We both loved it. It's got really nice animation and a good story. It's about a 12 year old orphan that wants to become an inventor. He wants to enter a science fair with a machine he built to show memories. At the fair someone sabotages his design and he gives up. But a boy from the future comes and tells him not to give up. It's funny, lighthearted and enjoyable.
