This is a film that is too overhanded in its emotional punches. Overtly morbid, the film never allows the viewer to thoughtfully consider death.
Will Smith is the new self-mutilating hero displacing Mel Gibson - who replaced Jesus Christ no doubt.
Like I Confess, this is a serious drama/thriller in which the guilt is on the wrong man. Anyways, Hitchcock works as the miracle-worker in this fantastic movie staring the brilliant Mr. Fonda.
I may never find myself on the David Fincher train. In time, Zodiac has grown on me. It's his best film still. Button is not up there though. Benjamin Button is thought provoking, no doubt.
All in all a pretty solid musical. It was strange, as expected. The music wasn't as good as I was hoping, but the movie was propelled by its own oddness.
