And the only film I ever ranked above Casablanca as the greatest love and historical drama ever told. Yes, a few on RT have maligned this film as a so what type of thing, but really, who worth their salt as a film critic would doubt the film as a stunner in every category? Fantastic review, fantasic photo... thanks for spreading the word to RT world and its a shame it needed spreading.

Now, if you care to, review Lawrence of Arabia. Its a long 3 hour film that may not seem so long. I checked and so far no review from you as yet.

It's WAY over done. And I'm just not a fan of the over dramatic acting from Leigh, in almost every film I've seen her in. And I personally believe that the epic genre in film is the most overrated, with the exception of Lawrence of Arabia, and Titanic. So I must disagree with your opinion.

This was one of my ex-boyfriend's fave movies of all time. I was amazed to realize that there was a Hitchcock film I had not seen. So we watched it together. Was very disturbing (in a good way). It got under my skin.

There are films from the sixties that should be required viewing as a way of educating fans of film. This is an example. The subject matter or setting may not appeal to many I would suspect in today's action orientated audiences. And then, animated films did not dominate the screen back then either.

This film is one of a kind. Do you like any of Malick's other films? I think they're very good as well, but 'Days' was his masterpiece. I can still remember seeing it for the first time about 10 years ago, and thinking that it seemed to breathe. I could almost smell it.

I'll have to count them up. I do know that I have seen every Best Picture winner and nominee back to 1949. And I have seen about half of the ones from the 1940's and am working on the 1930's ones as well. I am missing a few of the Best Pictures of the 30's and 40's, but will eventually get them all...if I can.

You will find this amusing and confounding at the same time, but I have NOT seen ANY of the Godfather flicks! Weird isn't it? I think there must be some moral problem I have in not seeing these treasures, but honestly, they scare the hell out of me as they are based on reality...not fiction.

The current crop of film goers tend to make the Godfather series their cinema god. I tend to see earlier flicks as the gold standard, like Gone With the Wind and Lawrence of Arabia. But no matter. Its all good stuff in the end.
