Part of the 2006 Portland International Film Festival. Czech Republic film that follows a typical family with typical problems but it is completely absurd.

There are no subtitles for this movie. That doesn't matter though since when anyone talks, it is in gibberish. The entire movie is not shot in normal film speed, but sped up slightly. You can follow what is going on, but it is still all very bizarre to watch a movie with no dialogue.

The father works in a meat-packing plant, which is pretty disgusting. He starts an affair with a blonde at work. His wife picks up on this and tries to gain his attention at home with a makeover, but he isn't around to notice. Their oldest teenage son is a skate punk who pierces himself to impress his girlfriend who ends up leaving him for an older biker guy. Their youngest daughter gets in trouble in school for not paying attention in class, but she is the one that sees the crazy creature called a Skritek that follows her around and acts goofy.

Anything that happens is predictable, but it is still so very odd since it moves a little faster than normal and no one is talking in anything but gibberish.
