Alright, I jsut got back from the theaters after freezing for fifteen minutes. And the film I obviously saw was I Am Legend. Will Smith's new film and wow... It was a ride. I really enjoyed it. The book was magnificent. Now, yes they did change alot of it, like Robert Neville was just a normal everyday man in the book, and in the movie, he's an Army virologist. He already ahs the dog, when you after read for a while to get to the part of the dog.
I understand not everything is going to be just like the book.... You'd have a 15 minute movie then, because the book is only like 168 pages long, and the rest are short stories. But the one thing that fell flat for me was the CGI. It was horrible. Why not use the "People in make up method?" The CGI was horrible, it looked fake and out of place. I do love however the lead Vampire. He was big, and tough. And looked and acted like a worthy adversary to our hero Robert.
I will admit, I did almost cry when Samantha, Roberts dog died. But it was meant as being an emotional scene. I loved the well placed flashbacks of the night they tried to evacuate New York City. Those shots were beautiful. I recommend this film to anyone who has read the book, or someone looking for some very exciting thrills.
