movies i've recently seen (including review, and comments)

1. Transformers 9.5/10

good: Effects are unbelieveable, Bay stuck quite close to source material on robots, characters.

bad: as usual w/bay movies, there are quite a few corny lines/situations, although this movie is quite humorous throughout. (big robot, its probably Japanese)

2. Live Free or Die Hard 9.3/10

good: welcome return for Mclane, maintains trademark humor, intense situations to solve. intelligent, entertaining side characters and villian.

bad. coulda used a little more adult themes (like blood and cursing to add to that Mclane spice. it was pg-13)

3. Shrek 3 7.9/10

good: many hilarious situations, not as bad or dissapointing as other threequels.

bad: not as consistently funny as previous installments, needs some new material to keep series fresh.

4. Spider man 3 5.7/10

good: action scenes were nicely done , venom looked amazing as well as Sandman, Bruce Cambell

bad: venom for only 10 minutes? (venom is to spiderman as The Joker is to Batman. hes worthy of a whole other film) Humor was more corny and cheesy than funny, script was a mess, Gwen Stacy was awful
, Too much "crying".

5. Pirates of the Carribean: At Worlds End 8/10

good: satisfying ending, kept intense, rarely dull, funny cameo by Keith Richards, decent perfomances. Overall much better than DMC

bad. a little too long, stil lsoem questions to be ansered about plot (will sparrow go for the fountain of youth, why?), and a very weird scene involving sparrow while hes "dead"

6. Knocked Up 9.8/10

good: consistently hilarious, Perfect script, wonderful cast, Seth Rogen is the next Big comedy star

bad: well about 1 or 2 jokes in the entire film were a little stale (should i wear red, blue? i look good in yellow)

7. Fantastic Four:ROTSS 7.5/10

good: Action scenes were fun, not nearly as corny, actors were more laxed in their roles. and Silver Surfer looked amazing

bad. some awful lines that i don't even remember, no reason y Larry fishburne did SS voice over Doug Jones.

ill post some more reviews soon

more movies to see: Ratatuoille, Harry potter and the OFTP, SuperBad, Chuck and Larry, Simpsons(along with the DARK KNIGHT trailer hopefully woohoo!!), maybe Hot Rod, and Holloween remake, or reimagining.

Movies I anticipate

Posted on 7/19/07 at 11:49 PM | Last edited on 7/19/07 at 11:44 PM

Mood:
Excited
well i have so many films that i cannot wait to see. The big one after "Transformers" (which i loved soo much i saw it 3 times, twice on digital projection) has to be "The Dark Knight". Im very excitd to see what Mr.Nolan will do with his verison of the Joker character. i recently heard that he will use the famous comic "The Killing Joke" as his reference for the character which just happens to be the most popular joker vs Batman comics. god i cannot wait!!!
