The BEST AND WORST OF SUMMER

Knocked Up
Ratatouille
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
28 Weeks Later
Transformers (very guilty pleasure)
POTC:AWE (Screw Spidey...this one is alot better. And I like Spider-man alot more.)
Surf's Up (unexpected surprise)
Live Free of Die Hard

Worst of Summer
Shrek the Third
Spider-man 3
Evan Almighty (Why Steve Carell! Why????!!!?!?!?!?)
Delta Farce (I just saw this to see how bad it was....I swear.)
License to Wed (same here)

Awesome sequels, great new stuff, fun comedies, and potent different options tend to make a Summer movie season great.

Knocked Up

Mood:
Euphoric
Wow. I was definetely surprised with the incredible quality of Knocked Up. I truly loved this film. The characters, the beautiful dialogue, the amazing sense of humour, the story...everything was endearing and satisfying. I hated the 40 year old Virgin...(i know many disagree) and I think it's because this movie was so much better. It balanced the drama and the comedy much better.

Allison and Ben's romance was amazing, much stronger than I could expect. They were friends, then lovers, then friends, then lovers...it was very complex and funny to watch a relationship change like that.
The Pete/Debbie relationship was gold. So amazingly realisitic and at the same time comedic perfection.

I think this is undoubtedly the best comedy of the year. Grindhouse may or may not hold that honour, I'm still not sure which one I think is better, but this is without a doubt the freshet, most fun, smartest, most satisfying Summer comedy I've seen in years.

5/5
