Julie & Julia (2009)
Julie & Julia is very light entertainment. Meryl Streep does a great impression of Julia Child, and perhaps with a better script, could have been a great performance. But in the hands of Nora Ephron, it's simply an impression.
The Proposal (2009)
Less gags than I was expecting, so that was a good thing. Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds play the cliches well, making The Proposal an enjoyable $1 rental.
