3: Inglourious Basterds. This movie is not for everyone but if you are a fan of Tarentino this should be in your DVD library. American jews attempt to cause morale issue to the Nazi war machine by ambushing, killing, scalping and playing 'Baseball' with them. Amazing performances, great set pieces, humor and merde.
2. Children of men. A cold-toned, near-future flick that shows what it would be like when all Women in the world become baron. Or maybe men can't get it up in the future. Either way, the only one woman without a labido issue is quickly thrown into multiple conflicts involving seperatists, rebels and military when it is discovered she is pregnant. Not to worry though, Clive Owen is in town and he is Badass! The movie is gritty, suspensful and will tear at every emotion. It's a thinker with a damn satisfying conclusion and a message. Stop wearing condoms, world!
1. Pan's Labyrinth. In the first ten minutes or so I was skeptical about seeing this movie. I did not know what it was rated or what it was about. All I knew it starred a darling, little, spanish girl named Ophelia and fairies. Then it gets crazy. Out of hundreds of ways I can think to kill a man ( and believe me, I think about it a lot) I never considered using the blunt end of a wine bottle to the face. I'm talking one of the most brutal murders I have ever seen in the movies and it is all done so gracefully. Who knew The plot revolves around Ophelia and many magical quests she must partake in. One wonders, if these quests are part of Ophelia's wild imagination from her always reading her fairy tales or if something truly deep is at work. During all of this, A civil war is being fought in Spain between the Army (bad) and Rebels (good). It's brutal, beautiful and it doesn't have a lick of English spoken in it! Took er job!
