Who says you can't go to the local high school to find the perfect character for your new provocative comedy? Well, if anyone ever did, then Christopher Mintz-Plasse--a high school student who has never been in a movie before--just rocked their skeptical socks off. Mintz-Plasse plays Fogell, the subject of ridicule for the already marked losers, Seth and Evan (so, Fogell is to Seth and Evan, as Seth and Evan is to popular guy). Maybe to gain the worthless popularity of his friends (I'd say more along the lines of adding to his own unknown savageness), Fogell makes a fake ID and calls himself "McLovin." That is the entirety of the name on his new ID. "McLovin."
Although Hill and Cera are great as the super-straight lovebirds--take away the dick jokes and this is a romantic comedy about these best friend's undying love for one another--McLovin is the fantastic find that makes this film just plain fun to watch.
