2008 Anticipatory Madness

Excited
Sure, 2007 was supposed to be a killer year. Look what we got: Spider-Man 3 (Ouch), Silver Surfer (I still shed tears every night), and Harry Potter 5 (Just too damn dull looking to spend my money on.) Lackluster filmmaking is at an alltime high. How does this happen? Whose idea was this? All these constant letdowns, and yet still we fork over our money to Hollywood execs who know we're gonna feed the piggy no matter what they put in front of our 108 ounce popcorn and Mega Gulp.
2008, save me. Take me away from all this mediocrity. Iron Man, with the most exciting trailer I've seen in eons, you win my vote for the most exciting trailer for a 2008 movie thusfar. My blood quickens watching that enormous metal suit stomp out of the cave into oncoming fire. Robert Downey Jr., run for president of the United States and you KNOW you have my vote.
And The Dark Knight. Oh, lord, how can I describe the terrifying levels of adrenaline that flood my nerves when I look through all the onsight footage? Living in Chicago, we see occasional updates regarding scene locations and various special effects being shot throughout the area. Hearing Heath Ledger's bloodcurdling laugh in the teaser is enough to put the hairs of a dead man on edge.
I don't even really need to address Indiana Jones and the Kindgom of the Crystal Skulls, do I?
Clearly, for all the sadness, misery, woe, letdownery, and suckitude 2007 has betrayingly wrought upon us, there is still light in next year's lineup.
