Call of Duty 4 on PS3

    Posted on 12/07/07 10:53 PM | Last edited on 12/07/07 10:38 PM

As far as I'm aware, Call of Duty 4 sets the standard for virtual modern warfare. It is the Halo 3 for the PS3. The war-torn landscapes of tattered Iraq are jaw-dropping and grounded in reality (even if it is a game). It's a refreshing change to see a WWII franchise bring to a new console a premise that many lesser known companies have tried to create but none have come as close or as addictive as this one here. The feel of Call Duty is here, just that there is more language, more blood and intense violence, more weapons, and a lot of objectives that are fun without being cumbersome. It's a wonder to see the number of awards #4 has recieved, but then again it makes perfect sense that they won more than 40 awards because of their revolutionary gaming experience. This game is better than the first three COD combined, so every PS3 owner should own this visceral experience. Case closed. Kingdom Hearts II is a Role Playing Masterpiece

    Posted on 11/30/07 07:27 PM | Last edited on 11/30/07 07:15 PM

Kingdom Hearts II is a wonder to behold. The amazing voice talents of the cast: Haley Joel Osment, Rachel Leigh Cook, Christopher Lee, James Woods, and even Dan Casteneta (Homer Simpson) are wonderfully fused with every animative detail that this game offers up to you with a feast for the eyes. The animation of Square Cnix has always been well-crafted and imaginatively gorgeous with all of the right detail that the various Disney worlds from many of the Disney movies deserve in all of their involving adventures. Thanks to Disney, Square Cnix contains a story that you will never experience anywhere in the gaming universe except in this sole experience. The story is too complicated to even mutter a word of, so I'll just say this: The story is not as complicated as POTC: At World's End, but it's as satisfying as Raiders of the Lost Ark. Even if you did not know that the game franchise of KH was even existent, then you owe it to yourself to buy the first and second games, especially if you're a Disney enthusiast. Don't worry about the rating of E and E+10, just get the game and be ready to be wowed many times over over the scope, imagination, and experience that is Kingdom Hearts II. The Don's Edition on PS3 in all its Shady Glory

    Posted on 09/30/07 04:18 PM | Last edited on 09/30/07 04:00 PM

I have nearly beaten this game, so to speak, so you can say that I'm am finished with it. It's been a long journey in 1930's crime-infested New York, so let's get some backstory on The Godfather: Don's Edition. Early on in the game, your dad and then mom are brutally murdered by Don Barzini who is the leader of the biggest crime orginization/family in New York. Don Corleone comforts you and tells you that one day you will take your revenge. Flash forward a couple years, you are found by Clemenza of the struggling gang Corleone family in a gang-fight and taught the basic combat controls. The rest of the game follows the entire story through motion capture, which you will find in the endless bonus features archive as you progress (movie clips and making the game and thrown in). You are beginning to be noticed by the Don, rising the ranks and taking bigger and badder jobs and all. The only fictional part of the game is you, because you are not Al Pacino (Michael, who is in the game most of the time). Robert Duvall and James Caan voice their iconic characters, Tom and Sonny. The gunplay displayed in this game is so gruesome, so pervasive that you get a rush of adrenaline. The game's not all about this, though. You have to prove your worth in the Corleone family by extorting businesses (casinos, brothels, drug fronts). You also need to take down the four dominant crime families of the five New York subvisions which are: Tattalgia in Little Italy, Tattalgia in Brooklyn, Stracci in New Jersey, Brazini in Midtown, and Cuneo in Hell's Kitchen. Along the way you'll recieve more income, allowning more stuff to be bought, including penthouses with many weapons thrown in. All in all, this is my #1 game. Case closed. Capiche? Shadow of the Colossus Shines Clear and Bright

    Posted on 09/24/07 07:37 PM | Last edited on 09/24/07 07:27 PM

Be forewarned about this game, this is a game where you sometimes have to sit down for a couple of hours on end to complete one level. This game draws you into its at first tiny, but very expansive world where giants rule and you, your horse, and your holy sword have to kill thirteen of them to bring your friend back to life who is lying lifeless on a stone table. This game is totally Japanese, from its meticulous environment to the totally unique and individual "colossi", or giants that are large, meaning they walk really slow and look really cool with all of their moves that they pull all up on ya. For every colossi, there is a new and more complex strategy for you to execute them. For example, for the first all you have to do is...like hell I'm gonna tell you what to do. This is a really simple game and at the same time a frustratingly complex game that can put you in a state of awe admiring the colossi and the environment. Just know that this game will not be easy to complete, with all of the traveling and terminating that you will have to complete in order for your friend to live. The ending is worth all the trouble that you go through, although it is a bit of a mystery. that's probably what the Japanese designers wanted me to think. Those Japs sure are smart! This is my third game on my top five list. Be ready for more Critiques and Opinions on Every Game and Movie I Can Get My Hands On!

Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb, An Old-Fashioned Adventure

    Posted on 09/24/07 07:25 PM | Last edited on 09/24/07 07:03 PM

Just as the mood states, I am and always will be in love with this game that I bought for $19.99 at a Hollywood video, which is a great rental place (longer rentals than blockbuster and cheaper than BB's 2-day recent rentals. Blockbuster's best deal is their older rentals, which you can keep for a week). The whole trilogy, more recently Emperor's Tomb, drove me to buy a old Indy comic book and adaptation of Raiders from a small toy store in Cleveland this July. Besides that, this game borrows the best material from the Indiana Jones Trilogy: Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. The bridge and crocodiles, the fiery temple, the dangerous swordmen, the woman, and of course the monologue-spewing scarred Nazi. Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb starts out as you are beginning an exploration of ruins that are located in southern Ceylon, the island south of India and which is now named Sri Lanka. The controls you learn are easy because this game wants you to enjoy the experience like you were watching one of the silver screen adventures. No complications, no frustrations, just combos for punching the baddies and aiming your revolver and whip at whoever. Not to mention swimming in the right direction. After the first chapter (the game unravels in story form), a serious Chinese man and his workaholic woman assistant request that he travels to China to find the mythical Emperor's Tomb, which, as we know, holds untold power to its possessor and will recieve China's highest honor of praise. Before you get to China, you get to glob trot to different locales such as Prague, Turkey, and even Hong Kong (the rest is too good to give away). The voice acting is exceptional, the only one I recognize is Harrison Ford who gets to reignite his youthful flair as Indiana digitally. This game was developed and published by LucasArts, the video game company created by Lucas himself. This game contains nearly constant action violence, meaning that it is never once bloody. The game's graphics were fairly advanced for when it came out four years ago, but now it looks just a little outdated. That doesn't matter though because the gameplay and the music wrap you up in its fuzziness and the fond memories of the sentimental feelings you felt when you saw any one of the Indiana movies. Highly recommended for purchase, because it's a keeper. It's my fifth favorite game in my top five list. Be ready for more Critiques and Opinions on Every Game and Movie I Can Get My Hands On!

Shadow of Rome, A Monumental Historical Action Game

    Posted on 09/23/07 03:57 PM | Last edited on 09/23/07 01:05 PM

This is a spectacular historical game that captures the essence of the great historical epic grandeur of Gladiator and Spartacus. This is a game where you can play as a gladiator named Agrippa by slaughtering many, many gladiators in many arenas in many bloody fashions because you need to be able to stop his father's execution for the reason that he was falsely convicted of murdering Ceasar and where Caesar's nephew, Octavanius, can sneak around many venues to unravel the complex mystery behing Caesar's shocking murder. The narrative switches back and forth at very approapriate times to give you a breather from their exhausting battles for their goals. The story is as rich and compelling as the epic battles and cutscenes, which bring its fantastical take to the murder conspiracy of Caesar. You start out as Agrippa, a Roman general who has fought the Anglo-Germans for their land for quite awhile and needs one more battle to take 'em over. Meanwhile, Ocatavianus has just recieved news of Caesar's murder and is devastated to hear from the politican Cicero that Agrippa's father is accused of Ceasar's death and his mom will be put to death. When Agrippa has returned to Rome after a successful campaign, Octavanius delivers the dark news to him, and he is so outraged that he and Octavianus attend and disrupt the execution. His mom is killed anyways by Decius, a cruel gladiator school owner who wears lion skins. Before Agrippa is caught by the Roman guards, they are rescued by a tan and white clothed woman by the name of Claudia. The three reach and infiltrate the prison where Agrippa father is secured. His father is indeed innoncent, and from word of mouth, Agrippa will become a gladiator competitor in a tournament whose victor will be the executioner of Agrippa's father. The story effectively drives the whole game forward, without a moment you are sucked into it. Try not to be engulfed in it though, because spending time in Rome will go by fast. This game is intended for Rome fans (adults) and for mature teens, or clever pre-teens who can sneak this game into their collection. Everyone, be prepared for the gladiator battles which can become overwhelming in its intense and explicit nature. This is in the top five of my all-time favorite games list. God of War II (The 2nd Near- Perfect RPG game that is tied with GOH 1

    Posted on 09/21/07 02:47 PM | Last edited on 09/21/07 02:31 PM

Back and more brutal than ever, Kratos, the Ghost of Sparta, has more freedom for manuevers that will dazzle and disgust and a journey that is more enjoyable to see and play. He has slain the God of War in revenge for his blind power (literally) slaughtering his family, and partly for Olympus who was sick and tired of his wars. Now, he is the God of War and he is arrogant and anti-social. He is a loner, wanting to create glory for his homeland Sparta and does not want Olympus getting in his way. Because of his foolish arrogance, he is robbed of his godly powers and transformed into a mortal with a trace of godly powers still there, thanks to his trusty chain-blades. The God of Gods, Zeus, tricked him into giving over his powers into the Blade of Olympus, Zeus's all-powerful sword that can inflict devastating damage, believe me. To acheive vengeance on Zeus, Kratos sets out on another odyssey to take back what is rightfully is and take down and 'assist' as many Greek mythogical adversaries and friends as possible, no matter how over-the-top its fashion is. Once again, this is a game for gore aficionados and hardcore, mature action gamers who love Greek mythology and a character who is revolutionary in his stature and his fighting style. That's enough talking. If you do not have it, the people I'm been talking about I'm now talkin' to you guys directly: Buy it NOW! It's not one that you'll regret buying and end up giving it to a friend or to a store for a measly amount of money. JUST DO IT! I have to, but do not want to wait any longer for the God of War III release. According to the buzz, it will be released on the PS3 platform, as many PS franchises should. Hearing this, I would love nothing more than to go on another GOH Journey. Be ready for more Critiques and Opinions on Every Game and Movie I Can Get My Hands On!

The Near-Perfect RPG game for Hardcore Action Loving Gamers Myth Fans

    Posted on 09/21/07 02:30 PM | Last edited on 09/21/07 02:11 PM

GOD OF WAR! Kratos is by far the most buff and brutal video game character that's ever been around. He loves to mortify flesh in every possible way. His story is a Greek war tragedy. He used to be a power-hungry Spartan general who wouldn't stop conquering until "'the glory of Sparta is known throughout the world!'" His selfishness gets the best of him when they battle primal barbarians. In his moment of death, he vows his allegiance to Ares, the God of War if only he vanquishes his foe. When we first see him, he is cursed with a tortured soul, no matter what he does to try and fill the empty void in his soul. He is told by a Greek goddess that he has to undergo a journey to slay the God of War for Olympus for reasons to be revealed. Kratos has chained blades bound to his arms, most likely as a sign of power from the God of War. The rest of the game is pure story and action, with plenty of impalings, hackings, and inventive/gory executions that will satisfy the gore aficionados and hardcore, mature action gamers (I got to smooth-talk my Mom into getting this one and the second one). The enemies are well-made, the graphics stunning for the year it was realeased, 2005, even if PS3's graphics definitely surpass it's settings, characters, and action details of GOH. This RPG was the first game that has you pushing buttons in special executions. It's all about the timing in these sequences, because you will be rewarded in many ways at its end. This is one of my three all-time favorite PS2 titles above Kingdom Hearts and the Shadow of the Colossus. Be ready for more Critiques and Opinions on every Game and Movie I Can Get My Hands On!

    Project Snowblind

    Posted on 09/19/07 07:32 PM | Last edited on 09/19/07 07:24 PM

This is the first ever shooter game I've known that takes place just in Hong Kong. The year is 2065, you are Nathan Frost, a 2nd Liuetenant who has volunteered for a super-soldier transformation. You are first attacked by the "militias", and almost die from a helicopter missile. From there, you recieve abilities very similiar but way cooler than those of Goldeneye: Rogue Agent. The game is basically you landing behing enemy lines, and you being the leader of the pack by using any means necessary. You have cars, superpowers, tons of weapons, and at most 4 types of grenades including a life-reviving grenade at your disposal. I got to borrow this game from a friend last week, and I've been distracted by my amazingly hard Disney game Kingdom Hearts. I wish I could be able to play it more, but I've wanted to finish KH by tomorrow because tomorrow is my B-day! 9/20/1991 is my b-day if anyone who is going to read this says so in my profile. All in all, if you want to own or rent, your choice, an entertaining sci-fi shooter, this is for you. This is certaintly not an innovative games, like God of War or The Halo Trilogy, but it certainly brings its original source material justice. Kingdom Hearts

    Posted on 09/11/07 05:51 PM | Last edited on 09/11/07 05:43 PM

To say at the least, Kingdom Hearts is my most highly valued game, so far. I bought it about a month ago for $20, and've been playin' it ever since. It's not that I want to play it slowly, it's just that it's so dang difficult in many places. Of course, I've had tremendous help by my favorite walkthrough source, guides.ign.com, and my faith in the game has made it a very satisfying and extremely memorable journey through this truly epic game. Final Fantasy characters fused with Disney characters and worlds abound inside this. I was not a FF fan before this, I thought it looked too "emo". Now, I know why it carries such a big following.

It brings trademark storytelling to all-out action, without any blood/gore (maybe a little of the first in the T games). Because Disney is involved with this game and that it was released in 2002, the game is rated E but lemme tell ya, this game is too hard and intense for the kiddies to play. It's more for the Disney fans who've lost their touch with the Disney worlds. Anyone who fits this description will have a grand time releasing their inner child for however long that may be. I can say that I am one of them, and that I've glad that I've discovered this game because it is a timeless game without being a shocker, but just being a sentimental throwback to Disney's golden age.
