For this summer, there are just as many good popcorn films as there were bad ones in 2007 (RUSH HOUR 3 for example). Yet there were a few good to great ones, the good being TRANSFORMERS and the great being THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM. That was 2007, this is 2009. The following will be an adlibbed summary of the blockbusters and notable little uns coming on during this time of movie rampage.
Biggest film of the summer, still lots of huge ones out there From sophisticated actors rebooting TERMINATED franchises and PUBLIC ENEMY genres to sequels of TRANSFORMING action blockbusters from yesteryear, this summer is looking UP as well as above us in STAR TREK and around us in ANGELS IN DEMONS. In addition, we'll be staying up late for NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM: BATTLE FOR THE SMITHSONIAN, we'll be dragged to hell in DRAG ME TO HELL, hung over from THE HUNGOVER, lost in laughter in Will Ferrell's LAND OF THE LOST, remembering Jackson and Travolta going at it in THE TAKING OF PELHAM 1 2 3 and Sam Rockwell on the MOON instead of Eddie Murphy's latest cutesy comedy IMAGINE THAT; seeing ICE AGE 3: DAWN OF THE DINOSAURS in 3-D, getting a load of Johnny Depp and Christian Bale unloading their Tommy Guns in PUBLIC ENEMIES, having the anticipation for HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE fulfilled, see Sacha Cohen's last of the three ALI G SHOW characters debut on film in BRUNO, see Judd Apatow's fourth film FUNNY PEOPLE, Hasbro revive or rebury GI Joe with GI JOE: RISE OF THE COBRA, a romance between a librarian in Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams in THE TIME TRAVELER'S WIFE, Brad Pitt succumbing to Quentin Tarantino's homage to Nazi exploitation bloodshed in INGLORIOUS BASTARDS, see a medley of comic talents supporting Alexis Bledel in her first leading role in POST GRAD, and experience HALLOWEEN 2 in Reality D and FINAL DESTINATION: DEATH TRIP in 3-D. That's all, folks. Smallest film: It's summertime, there's no such thing as that! |

At first I wasn't too excited about this summer, but now it's shaping up to be a pretty exciting one. It seems like it's going to be May and everything else (with some notables here and there). May is going to be crazy starting with Star Trek (can't wait).

This summer is going to drop the awesome bomb over the 2009's earlier movie seasons. May and everything else for sure will be nuts, with Terminator and Star Trek and Angels and Demons and Up. It's the beginning of summer, and in case of the biggest summer movie: "The end begins"

I'm also really looking forward to the summer movie season. I'm really looking forward to Drag Me To Hell, 500 Days of Summer, T4, Harry Potter, and later Inglorious Basterds. I hope this summer is as good as last year's. Iron Man, The Dark Knight, Pineapple Express, It will be tough to beat.

Of course you are! Any movie lover wouldn't with the roster we have for us and that I displayed most of in my adlib. You're absolutely right, last summer was one of the best recent summer seasons in a long long time.
