Rather than rank films in order of preference, I've opted to simply order my list chronologically since I've seen enough great films that I'd consider it superfluous to split differences between them. Yet, my favorite film is boldified. This list is pretty much subject to change whenever I see a masterpiece and any changes shall be notes.

Good list-wish I could say I've seen more of them because it looks very intelligent. 0 Replies | Report Abuse Good list-wish I could say I've seen more of them because it looks very intelligent. 0 Replies | Report Abuse This is a great list! I think I have a bit of a prejudice against newer films, but I love some of the old picks you have here. Personally I always have loved the Conversation more than Godfather 1 and 2, but you have some great silent film choices and some Bunuel. Excellent taste! 0 Replies | Report Abuse I still haven't seen The Conversation so I'll take that as a suggestion and try to see it soon. Thanks for the compliment. 0 Replies | Report Abuse This is a great list! I think I have a bit of a prejudice against newer films, but I love some of the old picks you have here. Thanks for the compliment. 0 Replies | Report Abuse I'm pleased to see that this is definitely one of the more sophisticated lists I've come across. Not that they don't deserve their spots but I tend to prefer "Touch of Evil" to "Citizen Kane", and "Exterminating Angel" to "Viridiana".A few I'm disappointed to not see: Barry Lyndon, Ikiru, High and Low, Any Herzog, Bergman, Melville, or Wilder.Props for The Red Ballon and Godfather Part II (I prefer this to part I as well)It's usually hard for me to make these lists because it seems impossible to narrow it down... 0 Replies | Report Abuse Herzog wasn't far out, Aguirre: The Wrath of God is probably about 51. I'm shamefully ignorant of Wilder, though. 0 Replies | Report Abuse I put off "Sunset Boulevard" for far too long, but it was "Ace in the Hole" that eventually won me over. Kirk Douglas was one of a kind... 1 Replies | Report Abuse Herzog wasn't far out, Aguirre: The Wrath of God is probably about 51. I think I actually read a negative review of Vertigo by a critic somewhere, but I can't remember their website. 0 Replies | Report Abuse "two inclusions would be 95 out of 100, the other 48 the full 100"By which I mean, 48 of the films on this list would get maximum points if I were rating on a scale of 0-100 and two wouldn't, meaning there's always a possibility that they could drop off the list. 0 Replies | Report Abuse ah i cwhich 2 are them? 0 Replies | Report Abuse "two inclusions would be 95 out of 100, the other 48 the full 100"what? 2 Replies | Report Abuse ah, yes. great listi dont know about vertigo and scarface. didnt like them very muchlooks like u are the classic/retro guy. nice taste 1 Replies | Report Abuse Thanks.
