Showing 1 - 1 of 1 Movie Blogs
I just watched my first Federico Fellini film, 8 1/2, two days ago, and first Jean-Luc Godard film, Vivre sa vie, yesterday.
Not sure what to make of this film yet
bizzare mix of reality, flashbacks, and dreams
a b&w film with remarkably, vivid imagery
some of the characters can be pretty grating (Carla, Rosella), Claudia Cardinale is smoking, loved Guido's sunglasses and the Italian "fast-speak"
needs a second watch to attempt more comprehensive understanding
mid-life crisis or writer's block?
Vivre sa vie:
Found main protagonist's personality flaws, financial desperation, and subsequent descent into prostitution both interesting and deplorable
surprised about openness of prostitution: France or the '60s?
favorite scene: Nana's cool dance in the pool hall
plot progression in a series of vinaigrettes was a unique approach
ending was a shock, though entirely appropriate within the context of the story
Will be seeing Inception this weekend! Very excited.
