So bad it's good. Theres a fine line beween a good and bad film, and on the bad scale, there are many films that are just so horribly bad that they're are actually a joy to watch. Bloody Murder 2 is one of them. The flick has every cliche in the horror handbook, and it is heavily borrowed from Friday The 13th with it's setting, masked killer who was killed by counselors and has a very similar name (Jason Voorhees - Trevor Moorehouse). The weapon is even a machete. This movie is just a low budget piece of garbage, but you keep watching. It's fun to watch. Horrible acting and predictability, the film is just perfect for a lazy night or to have in the background hile your doing something more important.
The plot is simple (and very familiar!). A group of counsellors at a Summer camp are murdered one at a time by a masked killer with a machete who died many years ago because of his counsellors. I'm yet to see the preceeder to this film, which is referenced to alot and is a key factor, but i'd say it has alot of the same just with a different back story. There was a major plot hole I noticed in the film right at the end, when we don't know why Trevor killed certain people but spared others. A hilarious plot hole where the killer is searching for a girl named Sophie, and he keeps yelling out that he is going to find her using the main protaginasts name, who he handcuffed to a tree earlier (he didn't know yet that she had escaped, and she actually hadn't yet).
The acting was horrible. It's like they plucked some models from catalogue and gave them a script. Cheesy dialogue was aplenty, but one thing that actually surprised me about the flick was that the kills weren't actualy too bad.
Overall Bloody Murder 2 is so horribly bad that it is actually good. It's cheesy fun. My rating is 3/5.
