Josh Hartnett stars in the movie Ressurecting the champ. Im not very fond of Josh Hartnett movie. I think he has talent but has yet to achieve his full potential. He stars as Erik Kernan a boxing nwws reporter who is having a rough time at his job, one day coming out of aboxing match he mets a bum after saving him from a beating. The bum calls himself The Champ, a boxer who nearly made to the top but just dissapeared. The champ I thought was very well played by Samuel L. Jackson an actor whom I think is very talented, and shows his talent in this movie. Sadly Jackson's role is clouded by Hartnett's hair flippin news reporter role. Seriously the man flips his hair around twenty times in the film. Despite these wrongs the film is not bad, it is otherwise a good movie with bad acting and some not so smart writing. The movie was directed by Rod Lurie which is director that has not really stepped up film yet. The film had its share of boring moments and lacked in some main character development. The begginign of the movie was in my mind boring, but the movie then managed to get better, and featured a worthwhile emotional ending. Overall the movie wasnt a success, the film itself cost 13 million and only made 3 million, but the film manages to hold itself through its 112 minute runtime. Not a great movie but worth a rent if you enjoy sports movies.
