    Life of Pi (2012)
    Genre:
    Drama
    100%

One of the most poetic and simply marvelous uses of CGI effects ever in a film. Life of Pi has a heartfelt story and a questioning nature that make it as equal a treat for the mind as it is for the eyes. The famous novel was broken into three parts and the film (for the most part) follows this approach. While the most memorable parts are the ones with Pi and his Bengal Tiger "Richard Parker", the opening act sets up the broad themes of the film and are a joy to watch as well. On the artistic nature of the film and the strong visuals alone Life of Pi would be considered one of the best films of the year. When you include the astounding and challenging final statement of the film it is propelled to potentially one of the greatest films ever made.
