You want to know why some people don't take animation seriously? Here is why.
This movie is purely juvenile. It thinks it's far more imaginative then it is. Raining food would be a good concept for maybe a short or a childrens book *wink* but the concept just doesn't work in feature length.
The plot is predictable: man builds machine to make water into food, it ends up in the sky and it starts raining food, but (surprise!) the machine has a mind of it's own and the food will soon crush everyone.
The animation is also hideous to look at. The character designs are about as pleasing on the eyes as a cold sore, and for a movie with such an emphasis on food, the food doesn't look appealing at all. Ratatouille made me hungry. This makes me feel queezy.
Don't waste your money on this garbage. If you want to see REAL animation at its artistic best, see Pixar's Up or Hayao Miyazaki's Ponyo. Better yet, see both! Just don't see this.
