I don't understand why people say this film is even good. This adaption had no real plot, let alone even a point. Sure the performances by Heath Ledger were amazing, but, people were so manipulated by Ledger, that they completely forgot about the real point of Batman. Hell, the only reason people even liked this movie & went to go see this movie was because of The Joker. Yet, they failed to see the flaws this movie has.
The performances in this film, were amazing, but, Batman's new voice was laughable. Sure, how else can you conceal your identity? Just deepen down you voice of course! But wait, I could BARELY understand a word Bale was saying!! Even Kevin Conroy, who played Batman's voice in almost every animated series, didn't like Batman's voice. He found it to be mediocre. And take it from Kevin Conroy, who knows what a good Batman voice is.
Another disappointment to this film was Joker's look. His new look wasn't all that great. Wearing make up than to actually have it on you permanently? No Way! A more realistic adaption of him is a joke even for The Joker himself (and I'll get to the realistic part soon). Sure, Heath Ledger PLAYS the part better than Jack Nicholson, but the look wasn't any good.
Plot; there wasn't one. Like I said earlier above, people completely forgot about point of Batman only to be taken away by Heath Ledger's performance. Hell, they needed 3 villains (even though Scarecrow's appearance in the movie was just pointless) to get the movie going, & yet it still gets positive reviews! Why couldn't Spiderman 3 get positive reviews for having to use 3 villains in the movie?!
Now, about it's realism; A realistic Batman? What a joke! Batman was always meant to be fictional, & focused more on the hero himself than the rich man. As for the villains, was there even any? The joker had a great role in here, but didn't cause much, he was the main lead of the entire movie. Twoface might as well not have been added. His role was minor, & at most meaningless. Hell he died too damn soon! As for Scarecrow, again, a realistic scarecrow? Jokes people, jokes! And his role was just pointless. Batman was always meant to be fictional.
Batman. Batman Returns, & Batman: Mask of the Phantasm are still superior to The Dark Knight because at least those movie focused on the hero, the villains, plot, & best of all, they kept Batman FICTIONAL! While the Dark Knight being totally overrated, & having no clear point.

How was there not a plot? Because the antagonists moved the plot forward? That's the plot of EVERY superhero movie EVER MADE.
