Too long, poor plot, sub-standard story, even the hottie can make the rating go higher. Disappointed

I disagree with a lot of the negatives reviews. Enjoyed this a lot. Never stupid, hilarious joke and the plot is non trivial come to think of it. Well done. Again

Er something to watch if you really want to shut off your brain for a couple of hours.
Not saying it is stupid, only very very light. Uma Thurman is a little bit of a luxury for this movie

In fairness it seems Tim Burton has restrained his creativity for this movie.
Maybe because it is difficult to surpass Lewis Carroll's. Maybe because this was supposed to be a family movie. If it was not for Johnny Depp's solid performance or the visual effect I would hardly see the point of the movie.

Convincing. Especially David Frost (Michael Sheen) depicted as breezy and not entirely endearing even in the end. Interesting portrait of President Nixon and of his aides.

Unfortunately this movie failed to impress me.
Nothing strikes me as original. The Nightmare before Christmas -like characters, the talking cat are among the several borrowings this movie has made. A little bit disappointing.

The movie tackles the never-ending problem of integration in the Mid-West, although I find that lately they have been overusing it a little bit, and I guess the Academy Award winner Crash (http://uk.rottentomatoes.com/m/1144992-crash/) put it in a yet unsurpassed fashion.
This said, Clint Eastwood acting makes it worth it to watch, almost the whole of its marks are because of him.

Apparently the 3D version is worth every penny of the ticket cost. Unfortunately I watched the 3D so my review is not so enthusiastic. The story is out of question being one of the most famous Christmas fairy tales, written by a literary monument as Charles Dickens.
Jim Carey accent sounded questionable to me, but I am not an expert in 19th century cockney. It earns its marks on the animations and special effects.

Misleading title. It has as little to do with the hero created by Conan Doyle as possible, i.e.: the main characters live at 221b Baker Street. Apart from this, non negligible detail in my opinion when you use the name of the most famous detective in the literature, the movie is acceptable. Nice special effects and good looking actors. The plot is not so intriguing but is not the worst thing I have seen. I still prefer the original Holmes in writing, and do not get me started on the re-visitation of Watson.

The Cohen brothers' take at answering the big questions that torment every man, in his little although eventful life. What is the meaning of things that happen to us, and where does it all go? Mind you it's the Cohen brothers so they will not be obvious, but that does not mean you will like it. Comparing it to other works by the Cohens, I find this more accessible, albeit preserving much of their peculiar style. I also find the casting to be particularly appropriate, some actors have literally faces cut for their role. All in all, if you're Cohens' fan you should watch it expecting it to be a little de-tour towards a greater audience, if you are not, you should watch it having an open mind.
