This is a rare type of comedy. One moment a scene will be filled with laughter, the next will be incredibly serious, and the next will be laughter about an incredibly serious event. Robin Williams needs to find more roles like this because he was pure gold in every scene. In fact, so was everyone else. All the cast members did an excellent job at making the characters relatable and likable, but you also think that they are deeply flawed and can do some pretty messed up things. Overall, this movie was hilarious and as a huge fan of black humor I felt right at home in this very adult comedy. I stress the word "adult". This isn't a movie that is just cursing and always trying to be heartwarming. This is an extremely dark comedy with mature subject matter, but not at the expense at being a total riot. This film had an odd, but shockingly effective way of being sort of depressing, but mostly happy tone to it and even though a couple characters don't feel realistic this movie is underrated, hilarious, thought-provoking, brutally dark, and deserves a lot more popularity.
