Worth a watch if only for the cinematography and excellent acting. But where this film didn't quite hit the mark for me is in the constant preachy self-promoting voiceover of the philosohical theme it conveyed. Bottom line is choices we make, either out of kindness or self-serving motivation, have consequences to next lives. Whether you believe in reincarnation or not, this film works as it is made up of six different stories, each one is engaging and suspenseful, some have great humour, and some have great tragedy. But throughout each story, runs the theme of personal choice. The voiceover really ruined it for me and I felt myself sighing under the weight of in-your-face messaging. Audiences no longer need to be spoon fed. I get it. I get it. I felt like screaming at times. Didn't need to be a three hour film - better editing would have helped. Having said that, the characters and stories were so interesting, the acting so stellar, and the cinematography so grand, that this film deserves at least a 70% rating. The Wachowskis are certainly original film-makers, first with The Matrix and now with Cloud Atlas. I really love their creativity.
