Amazing film, and it proves that French films can be more than just people smoking and standing around. 2 Replies | Report Abuse Watch 'Tell No One' if you haven't already, that was a good French film in recent memory. 1 Replies | Report Abuse yes, I loved that film too! also, the Barbarian Invasions is really good 0 Replies | Report Abuse haha so true 0 Replies | Report Abuse Definitely an amazing movie. Not a flaw to be found in my opinion. It's impossible not to fall in love with Audrey Tautou... 1 Replies | Report Abuse yes, she is adorable in this! 0 Replies | Report Abuse |

Excellent review! I agree completely, on first glance this film is more style than substance but you nailed the message lurking beneath, and though a bit depressing it is definitely undeniable and explored beautifully here. 1 Replies | Report Abuse thanks! nice to see that you agree because most people didn't get it so they dismissed it as being a weird, confusing film but if they would actually watch it, they could see that it's message is very profound. 0 Replies | Report Abuse I also loved this movie, and I think your review was spot on. But the best Aronofsky movie for me will probably always be Requiem for a dream. 1 Replies | Report Abuse thanks! thats cool :) 0 Replies | Report Abuse |

isn't the music amazing too? this is del toro's best film, i think. good synopsis. 1 Replies | Report Abuse thanks yeah the music was great, I have the Pan's Labyrinth lullaby (the main tune) on my itunes. The Devil's Backbone was good too but I agree that this was his best. The Hobbit will be really cool since he is directing it! 1 Replies | Report Abuse No way! 1 Replies | Report Abuse there can be no arguing that this was an expertly crafted film and I raise my hat off to that but it struck me as just a little lifeless when the fantasy world failed to save the protagonist from the horrors of the real world and I found some of the dialogue scenes a bit dull. I think I'm the only one on the planet who found this underwhelming. that's why it's known as an adult fairy tale, because the ending is tragic. good point though! 1 Replies | Report Abuse But the child was the only one privy to the fantasy world, the adult material was concerned with Franco's Spain and how horrible it was. I just felt like she should have been saved somehow by the fantasy world instead of dying in the cold reality of the real one. I honestly think 'Lady In the Water' was a better adult fairy tale. 1 Replies | Report Abuse The child created the fantasy world to escape from her new life- living with the cruel captain in times of turmoil. The fantasy world didn't exist, so she couldn't have been saved by it, however the ending shows that she did get to become the princess in her fantasy land. Lady in the Water? I thought that was terrible! 1 Replies | Report Abuse Yeah M Night gets a lot of shit but I kinda like his films, there was something serenely affecting about Lady in the Water. I just feel that Pan's Labyrinth would have been a lot more powerful if the overlying image at the end had not been one of the girl lying dead on the cold stone slab. I understand what Del Toro was trying to say and I get that she became a princess in the fantasy land but what's the message here? Seeing magical things is all well and good but you're gonna fucking die any i should give lady in the water a chance because paul giamatti is cool. and you make some really good points! 1 Replies | Report Abuse only if you want its not gonna change your life or anything. I mean it wasn't that good. I just felt like Pan's Labyrinth was a little overrated and I have to justify myself with enormous slabs of text apparently in order to sleep at night. Paul Giamatti is top-dollar! 1 Replies | Report Abuse he sure is! 0 Replies | Report Abuse 100% Agreed fantastic Film which i didnt actually see till later last year.....i'd recommend Hellboy (only the first one though i havent seen the second but i've heard good things) Hellboy is different in tone if compared to Pan's but they both have this absolutely mind capturing Artistic Twist that i think only Guillermo Del Toro can do. 1 Replies | Report Abuse thanks, I agree about Hellboy- it's awesome and the second one is really good too! yeah, Hellboy has some laughs while Pan's Labyrinth is pretty serious. 1 Replies | Report Abuse If pressed though i'd have to pick Pan's Labyrinth over Hellboy, nothing against it but i was just more involved with Pans then Hellboy.and HellBoy 2 has been on my ever growing list for a long time now... 1 Replies | Report Abuse I also loved this movie and the interplay between real world horrors and fantasy monsters. But with Del Toros movies I always feel that the fantasy worlds are only thin veneers, like mind-games in the head of the protagonist. I really hope that he creates a full-blown fantasy world for The Hobbit, a world to really immerse oneself in. 1 Replies | Report Abuse hmm nice point! Yeah, I have high expectations for The Hobbit since he's directing it..haha 0 Replies | Report Abuse |

I agree. This film is the bee's knees. 1 Replies | Report Abuse did you get the impression that the little girl goes around recruiting these boys to be her guardian while she sleeps and when they get too old she gets rid of them? Adds an interestingly sick angle to their relationship. 2 Replies | Report Abuse Whoah, I hadn't considered that...That changes the story completely. 0 Replies | Report Abuse wow that's a very interesting idea and rather twisted! :) 0 Replies | Report Abuse Yeah, this movie was awesome. I really hope the American remake doesn't spoil the greatness of this film though. 1 Replies | Report Abuse wtf american remake?! that will suck.. :/ 1 Replies | Report Abuse It probably will sadly. The title has already been changed to "Let Me In," and I'm guessing that will be the less painful of all the inevitable alterations. -_- 1 Replies | Report Abuse This has to be my favorite film of it's genre. I agree with what you have said. Great review. 0 Replies | Report Abuse |

Twilight sucks, period. I've not seen True Blood.. I'm on a Flashforward kick at the moment and watching Twin Peaks again. 1 Replies | Report Abuse Yes, Twilight is pretty bad. True Blood is amazing! I have not seen Twin Peaks but I heard that David Lynch directed some of it? 1 Replies | Report Abuse Well the whole first (and maybe the second) season was by him, yeah. I don't know how old you are but when Twin peaks came out in 1990 it was a PHENOMENON and it was talked about across the world. You're one of many people that have brought up how good True Blood is. I don't normally do Vampire stuff, however I was recently spoiled by Let The Right One In. 0 Replies | Report Abuse Twin peaks scared the living daylights out of me when I first saw it at age 10.I recently revisited it and it's just as good as when I first saw it, although not as creepy.I really think True Blood is a great show that carries on the torch from Twin Peaks and X-files,but it's also quite different from them. It's certainly the most sexually explicit show I've ever seen originate from USA.I'm used to thinking of US censorship as being pretty strict.Allan Ball must hav 1 Replies | Report Abuse oh cool, I should see Twin Peaks.haha that is true! 0 Replies | Report Abuse |

The underground setting is perfect for a horror film. I use to go caving (as we call it in England) quite a lot, and the shadows and sounds play some powerful tricks on the mind down there. This was like a glorious nightmare for me 1 Replies | Report Abuse wow, yes sounds like an eerie setting! It's also completely pitch black, almost like you can touch the darkness or feel it envelop you... pretty creepy! 0 Replies | Report Abuse I generally have little patience for Horror films but this is one of the greatest ever. So well acted and cleverly directed. 0 Replies | Report Abuse "will always be a reminder for me not to go cave spelunking"Indeed.... 1 Replies | Report Abuse haha i know right!! 0 Replies | Report Abuse Agreed! Excellent reviewi saw some of part two and thought they were slowly ruining it 1 Replies | Report Abuse I just saw part two and i agree... :/ 0 Replies | Report Abuse My sentiments exactly! 0 Replies | Report Abuse Yeah, this movie kicks ass. 1 Replies | Report Abuse :) totally hahawhat kind of music do you like? 0 Replies | Report Abuse |

Watched this a while ago....it was better than i thought.Nice review Chloe. 0 Replies | Report Abuse This one wasn't bad for a small B Movie. The worst part about it is that I live a stones throw away from a power plant like the one in the film. Needless to say I've been celibate since I've seen this... 1 Replies | Report Abuse haha, that's funny! :) 0 Replies | Report Abuse |
