This wasn't THAT graphic. I thought it was a powerful tale of survival. I don't think it's worth criticizing just because you think it's too "extreme" (which it really isn't). You want extreme? Watch "Cannibal Holocaust". Otherwise, I think you made some PRETTY good points (aside from the fact that the violence obscured your opinion of this film). Good review overall. Thumbs up.

It was a powerful tale of survival, just the last third turned into a typical gorefest zombie flick. I don't have any problem with graphic violence in a film but it has to serve a purpose. Saving Private Ryan, Gran Torino, and No Country for Old Men all used graphic violence effectively. 28 Days Later didn't need to go as far as it did and thus it wasn't as good as I thought it could have been.

Grand Torino was NOT graphic and No Country for Old Men wasn't anything out of the ordinary. And 28 Days Later is a zombie flick. Good zombie flicks need gore. That is how it works.

Let me clarify, 28 Days Later lost me when Jim started killing guys with his bare hands. It didn't add anything to his character and was needlessly graphic. I realize zombie gore is essential and I didn't have any problem with the zombies I just didn't think the human on human violence was necessary.

I shall argue against that. The brutality definitely added something. It has the potential to do so. In this case, it showed that Jim has become a wild, mad beast.

Great review man. Personally this film didn't entertain me in any way, but that's just me. Great review.

You don't like zombies? Not even British ones?

I love zombie movies actually, just not this one. We're expected to believe that zombies don't attack people in comas. And the whole eye gouging didn't really make sense. Tons of zombies running around, yet you have time to stop running for a good eye gouge. The Brits had an epic fail with this one.

....I guess it blended in for me. I see what you're saying. But I really didn't mind it that much.
