Picture this, a mariachi(Antonio Banderas)walks into a bar with several men with guns and walks to the front of the bar where he suspects that everybody in this whole saloon (bar) are going to start shooting at him. What happens next after the first shot had been made, everybody starts shooting at him at plain view sight standing tall on TOP of the drinking counter where everybody who's firing at him all seem to be missing at him, while the Mariachi (Antonio Banderas) seems to be able to shoot everybody including the ones hiding behind tables, I have to say is the most absurd thing I had ever witness for an action film. Other action sequences consist of some I've seen before from other films especially from a John Woo film he made when he was still making films in Hong Kong . This is one of several ridiculous action sequences throughout this whole picture in which the only thing the viewer can do is just sit there and say "how did he do that!" and "how can the bad guys miss at such an easy target!" But because it was Rodriguez's first time experience to work with a big budgeted studio, I felt as though he had lost his groove on this one, since his previous effort "El Mariachi" had full creative control dealing with less money as opposed to this one who had to work with the studio's input with more money!!!
Also on here are action sequences I've seen from other films such as The Killer by John Woo, which I don't need to see again especially on an unoriginal kind of way!!
This film gets one star out of four!!
