The Princess and the Frog represents something worth celebrating for post-Eisner Disney: an animated triumph that is relevant historically for bringing about the resurgence of traditional, hand-drawn animation under the House of Mouse's new direction. Elevated by Randy Newman's toe-tapping score ("Friends on the Other Side", sung with theatrical brilliance by Keith David, has to be one of the best songs for a Disney villain since "Be Prepared"), delicious performances from its diverse cast, and a surprisingly well-told story about following what's good for you, this film is a real winter delight.
Enter the bayou, and prepare to be thoroughly entertained.

Great movie and a rich suspense story. It may be too hard for mainstream audiences to swallow, but fans of Alan Moore's complex tale will be pleasantly surprised: this adaptation doesn't dumb down the material.
