Peter Parker is back in the sequel to the first blockbuster in 2. Peter is on a tight rope, delicately balancing human life with spider life. For him, the spider life is winning. He loses his job, falls behind in school and must suppress his feeling for his true love: Mary Jane Watson. Why, he begins to wonder. What about his dreams, his life. He must confront a decision of desires, dreams and his responsibility. All the while, Dr. Octavius has become a freak with mechanical arms trying to achieve his dream, on a different course. Their paths must cross to save New York and their loved ones. The film's brightest moments are the human elements, the strained relationships from the burden of being a super hero. Sam Raimi let's the humanity shine through in this marvel universe with precision and emotion. He also pulls back on the action, not cluttering the film with undue fight scenes to please the masses. There is still plenty of punch for those who crave those sequences, but he also tells a brilliant story. Get caught in spidey's web and find a human touch.
