This blog entry is about the animation battle between South Park, Family Guy, The Simpsons and Futurama and my opinions on these shows:

Futurama:

Pros: Basically the premise for this show is Fry (the main character) is cryogenically froze from the year 2000 to the year 3000 he doesn't fit in at first but quickly makes friends and they are all hired by his great, great, great, great (etc.) and become delivery boys for planet express. Futurama basically gets most of its humour from parodies events that happened in the 1950's-00's re-happen (if that's a word) in the future and the joke is how differently people deal with the situation. Futurama does very well to appeal to older while still being funny enough for young kids. Bender is possibly my favourite character out of all these shows because he is so care free, evil, so damn likeable and plain badass. Fry is also very likeable who may be a bit dumb and lazy on the outside but he is a lot more complex inside. Futurama's humour is really well done it isn't in your face like Family Guy or South Park but is edgier then the Simpsons. The possibilities are endless with Futurama even though there may be only one season left. Some of the side characters make this show as good as it is such as scruffy, zoidberg, hubert farnsworth, clamps, zap branigan, richard nixon, flexo and hermes.

Cons: I only have a couple of problems with Futurama witch are the four movies that have all failed short of the standard i expect from Futurama. One of the main problems i have with the movies is that it's the first real time Futurama has resorted to ripping off movies which as you may know already pisses me off a lot, also the plots of the movies are amazingly dumb. But apart from that Futurama is a great comedy that i would honestly prefer to the Simpsons (which is partly because i find Futuramas comedy better and also the fact that the second half of the Simpsons has really soured my view of them).

Summary: Possibly my favourite out of the three so far (you'll have to wait till the final part to see if that's true ;) ).
