This is a difficult review to write, because you don't have a lot to talk about, there wasn't a lot of bad things in it, and the good moments were also scarce, but just by seeing those mythological characters, all together in a movie, and because of the incredible cinematography, you realize it's worth the money.
"Born of a god but raised as a man, Perseus (Sam Worthington) is helpless to save his family from Hades (Ralph Fiennes), vengeful god of the underworld. With nothing left to lose, Perseus volunteers to lead a dangerous mission to defeat Hades before he can seize power from Zeus (Liam Neeson) and unleash hell on earth. Leading a daring band of warriors, Perseus sets off on a perilous journey deep into forbidden worlds. Battling unholy demons and fearsome beasts, he will only survive if he can accept his power as a god, defy his fate and create his own destiny." (www.moviefone.com)
Louis Leterrier's work doesn't stand out in this picture, he chooses some wrong moments of when to use CGI (Like Medusa's face) but he also have his good moments (All of Hades's Appearances). What really shines in this picture is the cinematography by Peter Menzies Jr., all the backgrounds are amazingly beautiful, and he really give us the feeling of ancient Greece, this man's work is what make your money worthy.
Now let's talk about the bad part, the script. First of all, I don't trust any movie that has a screenplay written by the incompetent Phil Hay, every line tries to be epic, and in the end, there wasn't a single one that deserves mentioning. They defeated giant scorpions, Medusa, And the Kraken, and it didn't even look that hard, it all happened too fast, and there wasn't a single joke that worked, and in a film that is not dark at all, and tries to be funny sometimes (Even if not too much), this is a big fail.
The acting is not bad, but it's not good also, every character is, well, the correct thing to say is "Nhaaaa"(With the exception of Hades (Fiennes)), even Liam Neeson didn't do a great job.
Verdict: Not a bad movie, but not a great one, cinematography makes it worth watching, bad acting and a script full of issues, makes it not memorable.
