Although Michael Bay has been subject to criticism regarding his claimed preference of explosions over intelligent dialogue and pacing (Titanic is a prime example of this), he hits all the right chords in Transformers. The film's script is solid enough to both entertain the audience and move the plot along during the non-action scenes. And actor Shia Labeouf shines as Sam Witwicky, a fairly nerdy teen who has a crush on Mikaela Banes (Megan Fox), an extraordinarily beautiful classmate.
But the film's strength also comes from the exhilarating action sequences. Truly CGI has never looked better than it does in Transformers. Between watching the Autobots (the heroes of the film) and the Decepticons (the antogonists) smash each other to pieces, or watching the surrounding environment be destroyed as a result, the battle sequences truly are spectacular.
In summation, the film Transformers contains more-than-enough action sequences, and also is written well enough to keep the audience satisfied throughout the filler.
