John Carter was definitely a thrill ride! The plot line at times seemed a bit muddled, the characters were a little underdeveloped, but overall this was a very satisfying fantasy-adventure. I feel that if this film had been taken on by a different company, rather than Disney, it would have been much better off. I absolutely loved the world it put me in. I loved mostly all of the characters. It was a little slow, but still had no issue keeping my interest. I recommend it to anyone who is a fan of star wars or movies of that standing.

Long, and a bit uninteresting at times. Brave adds nothing to the genre, and definitely not worthy of the Pixar label. Still, a fun and action-filled fantasy with a few lovable characters.

    Horrible Bosses (2011)
    Genre:
    Comedy
    80%

    Posted on 7/13/11 10:56 PM

Horrible Bosses is absolutely hilarious. There are definitely a few flaws, but overall most easily one of the funiest movies I've seen this year.
In this film we have our three best friends Nick, Kurt, and Dale. The three are played wonderfully by Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis, and Charlie Day. Nick hates his boss. His boss is the president of a major corporation. He is offering the position of VP and Nick is absolutely sure he is going to get it. Well, Nick wasn't so lucky. His boss, played absolutely hilariously by Kevin Spacey decides to give himself the position of VP and maintain the role of President. This drives Nick insane. We have Kurt who works for a humble business owned by Donald Sutherland. Donald Sutherland's son is willed the right of the business if anything happens to Donald. Well, Donald dies. Nick is fucked. Then, we have Dale! He is the humor in the bunch basically. He works as a dentist assistant. His boss is, well, horny. She wants his hot bod, even though he is engaged. They all hate there bosses. They all collaboratively devise a plan to kill them. They all go on this outrageous adventure together and form bonds like that seen in hangover, etc.
This film is hilarious! Yes, Charlie Day's voice sounds like he hasn't hit puberty, and it did indeed bother me, but if that's one of the biggest flaws then I say watch this film. It's refreshing, especially after sitting through Hangover 2.
    See this movie!

Basically the same film as the first two...except louder. I feel like they should stop where there ahead. I really enjoyed the first film! I could easily say its one of my favorite action flicks in the past decade, but the fact that they keep making the same film over and over again is really frustrating. I love all of the auto-bots and shia lebouf is pretty decent in the role, but I'm just really..tired of these movies. Not bad, but definitely nothing new to share. Just go home, save the 10 bucks, and watch the first one...twice.

This film had that spark of pizaz that most films lack, but by concentrating so hard on being vulgar and trying to captivate a specific audience, it forgot to really develop its characters and the writing seemed very underdeveloped.
In this film we have Ms. Halsey, played by Cameron Diaz. She is an awful teacher. She drinks, does drugs, and speaks inappropriately around her students and she gets by with it because of her sly methods. The plot of this film is rather ridiculous. When a 'hot' new sub, played by Justin Timberlake, comes into town she realizes she needs to get a boob job to get his attention. Absolutely ridiculous plot...not even worth my time I would say. But, in order to get her new set of tits she has to raise 10,000 bucks. She ends up using and abusing her students for profit, and she finds other ways of earning the money. Honestly it is very flimsy and weak in all aspects of the film besides the performances given by the two 3 or 4 leads.
There are a few quick jokes that may make it worth your time, but all in all if your not a fan of the actors I would say skip this and go watch bridesmaids again.

    hmm..
well, I thought it tried a bit too hard to be like twilight, but in some sense I enjoyed this film better than any of the twilight films.
Amanda Seyfried was actually quit decent in this film. She seemed to fit the role very nicely, and did rather well. What really hurt this film was the plot. So, you have the classic villian of this fairy tell, the big bad wolf. In this story its a ware-wolf that is terroizing this village. He comes to the village one night when the moon is red as fire, and he tells red riding hood that she must leave with him. The big twist in this story is who IS the wolf? It is someone in the village. Could it be grandma? the two mysterious guys fighting for the love of red riding hood, her father, or just an ordinary town person. This in itself is not necessarily a bad twist, but I myself was not pleased one bit about this film ended up.
More of a miss. It could have been so much better, but for what it was it was alright.
I recommend this to people who enjoy the twilight films.

Good review. I hate this new Hollywood trend of turning classic children's stories into these modernized crapfests (like Alice in Wonderland and Beastly). This one looks especially bad. Red Riding Hood is meant to be a little story. How is it supposed to work as a modernized, sexy, scary epic. This just looks ridiculous.

    Absolutely hilarious.
This ensemble cast of women is unexpected and fantastic. Kirsten whig lead them all with a hilarious character. She is the best friend of the bride to be in the film, who is played by the always hilarious maya rudolph. In this film, they are childhood bestfriends who do everything together! They are the perfect pair. There humor sparkles and sets off the entire mood of the film as something very silly and lighthearted, which is refreshing from the very dull and heavy hangover two.
This film hosts so many subtly hilarious moments, there are too many to count. I found myself laughing at something in almost every scene. Whether it was witty banter, or maybe just a ridiculous facial expression made by Whig.
All in all this is just a great feel-good absolutely hilarious film I could watch over and over again. I actually saw this two nights in a row, being I work at my theater and get in for free. I would still pay ten dollars just to see this movie. I loved it and highly recommend it to anybody looking for a good laugh. Great comedy!

The only way to see this film and truly enjoy it is to go in knowing nothing about it. The first thing I thought of when I finished this film was a grown up E.T.

This film is centered around a group of young friends trying to make a super 8 film for a competition. Upon filming one night they all witness and are caught in a terrible, and absolutely gorgeous, train crash. They see a teacher from their school ram his truck into the train, and have absolutely no idea why. First thought is that he is trying to commit suicide, but later events unfold that reveal his true intentions. As the train crash comes to a close, the following days/weeks the town starts to experience strange events such as vanishing dogs, power outages, and missing people all over the town. People are running scared and pulling to the cops for help. The protagonist's father is the deputy sheriff (I believe) and he is the one who everyone is depending on. Earlier that year there was a terrible accident at the local mill where his wife worked and there is a part for that to play in this epic as well.

This is an absolutely beautiful film. Not only are the action scenes fantastic and wonderful to watch, but the unbelievable heart behind the film is fantastic. The budding romance between the two main kids is so overwhelmingly 'sweet' and really makes you miss those childhood crushes. The heart behind the actual villain is very surprising. I've said many times before in reviews that you can't have a true villain unless I can sympathize with it.

I highly recommend this film. The action sequences are intense and beautifully choreographed, and the performances from these youngsters were quit excellent. This is a great coming of age sci-fi thriller and really explores the idea of longing for home, family, friends, and love. Just great.

Everything else in the movie and cliche and unoriginal. But I know where you're coming from in your review.

    Absolutely terrific.
You do not have to be a lover of a genre to absolutely love this film. The wonderful characters you meet in this exciting journey are unforgettable and you will want to watch it over and over again. The action is very well paced and the performances are top notch! This is a very well executed film and another shining success from the coen brothers. I highly recommend this film.

This was a great movie! 4th best of 2010 behind The King's Speech, Inception, and Toy Story 3.

One of the year's best, no doubt. I agree that you don't have to be a lover of the western genre to enjoy the film, since I thought it was fantastic, but typically don't care for the genre. What stood out most for me were: Jeff Bridge's performance and the incredible cinematography.

    The Hangover Part II (2011)
    Genre:
    Comedy

What was the best part of the Hangover part 1? It was light, hilarious, and introduced some characters of which we fell in love with! What does Hangover 2 that ruins it all? Tries to be something its not. This movie took a really bad turn when it decided to get serious and stop just being stupid and made me laugh. This film I had to stop myself from falling asleep.

This film basically has the exact same plot. Another member of the guys group is getting married! He is completely against having a bachelors party because of recent events that may have scared him for life. But, allen just can't get leave well enough alone and ends up doing something, yet again, to completely destroy their lives.

Sure, there are definitely humorous parts to this film, but all in all it was a huge disappointment. Skip this and go see bridesmaids...that was actually funny.
