Gru (Steve Carell) is a super-villain with a lot on his mind. For one, because he’s the world’s number two super-villain behind the ultra-crafty Vector (Jason Segel), he’s suffering from a serious case of “villain envy.” To remedy that, Gru has decided to steal the moon. Imagine the havoc he’ll reek; imagine the riches he’ll reap ransoming that giant bright bringer of the tides! No one will rank him number two ever again! Stealing the moon will make him the greatest super-villain of all time (queue maniacal laughter)!

When “Lost” airs its final episode this Sunday, May 23 at 9¦8c, there will doubtless be a significant number of fans unsatisfied with the ending. These folks will likely complain about incomplete or nonexistent answers to “Lost’s” various mysteries. I understand the “unsatisfied fan” perspective, too; I do. In all likelihood, however, when the series goes dark for the final time, I won’t be among their numbers.

Sheldon has a house guest in week 21’s “The Plimpton Stimulation”—a young woman who gives new meaning to the phrase “more than meets the eye”. You read correctly, uber-anal, sexless wonder Sheldon Cooper hosts a female house guest. That guest is none other than world-famous theoretical physicist Martha Plimpton (Judy Greer), who’s written a number of famous books on physics.

“The Last Recruit” is the second busiest episode of season 6 to date, behind “LA X”. With the exception of Richard Alpert, all the major characters make an appearance—in both timelines, no less (the lone exception being Hurley’s absence from the sideways-verse). And while “Recruit” isn’t among the season’s finest achievements, it is an effective stage-setter as we approach the series denouement.

Sayid remains at the temple of The Others as “Sundown” opens and has grown weary of Dogen’s cryptic, contradictory ways. As such, he goes directly to Dogen to demand answers. Why did they [The Others] torture and try to kill him in week 2? The aloof Dogen offers only vague, enigmatic answers, but, in the end, confesses that he believes Sayid’s infected by an evil presence, for which death is the only cure.

Like week 2’s “What Kate Does,” “Lighthouse” is a letdown compared to the episode that preceded it—last week’s “The Substitute.” That’s not to say “Lighthouse” is a catastrophe; it’s not, but I’m sensing a pattern. If so, next week’s “Sundown” should be strong.

If I were describing NBC’s “The Marriage Ref” in a single word (and I suppose I’m about to), it would be excruciating. ”Ref” is the absolute worst kind of reality-TV dreg. I’m somewhat mystified NBC would even greenlight it. I know; it’s created and executive produced by ueber comic and NBC legend Jerry Seinfeld, but there has to be a line. Considering that this tripe is even worse than the crap-fest it replaces, “The Jay Leno Show,” I’d say both NBC and Seinfeld have exceeded that line. And then some.

Told you so...http://www.rottentomatoes.com/user/417001/blogs/view.php?id=656112But seriously, I totally saw this coming. Jerry Seinfeld has 'Seinfeld' and that is IT! To call him a comic genius is unfair to everyone else who has ever turned out more than 1 product that wasn't gag-inducing. 0 Replies | Report Abuse I couldn't agree more. And I know that, for some, it's blasphemy, but I never cared for "Seinfeld" either. To this day, I can't bear to sit through a whole episode. In any case, good call on your part regarding "Marriage Ref." 0 Replies | Report Abuse Told you so...http://www.rottentomatoes.com/user/417001/blogs/view.php?id=656112But seriously, I totally saw this coming. “The Substitute” reminds me why I got hooked by “Lost” back in 2005 after watching season 1 on DVD. This episode is well written, character driven and focuses heavily on two of “Lost’s” most compelling figures: John Locke and Sawyer. Better yet, the series’ most enigmatic character—the smoke monster—is front and center here, driving the narrative and providing cryptic answers that, more than ever, leave a distinct feeling that the endgame approaches.

There’s not much to recommend with Fox’s new series, “Past Life.” It’s derivative, clichéd and a blatant attempt to recapture the magic the network created in the 1990s with “The X-Files.” The show is part “X-Files,” part “CSI,” part “Medium,” and “Ghost Whisperer.” All those influences may sound intriguing, but don’t be fooled; “Past Life” amounts to little more than a poorly written detective procedural with convoluted plotlines and substandard acting, set against a gimmicky, supernatural premise.

Entertainment website Deadline Hollywood (deadline.com) recently reported that "Dark Knight" director Christopher Nolan has been selected by Warner Bros. Studios to oversee development of a new "Superman" movie. According to the report, Nolan won’t be writing or directing but rather, acting in "mentor" capacity, overseeing the creative direction of the project.
