I can't believe this film has so many bad ratings. People keep saying how grim, and sad, and depressing and dark this film is. Uhhh....this is a film, I didn't know there was a law stating that all films are to be happy and full of sunshine and ice cream. Yes, it's sad, and dark and it portrays a family who you just want to slap and make them play nice, but it portrays it in a very realistic manner. In the real world, this is the way a lot of families are, and this is the way a lot of families deal with their trials and tribulations, and it does reward you some very nice uplifting moments; while small, feel like a huge ray of sunshine in contrast to everything else and it's quite moving. I don't know what you expect from movies, but I expect to see something I can relate to, and this is truly something I can relate to and appreciate, if this is too much for you then stick with Disney.
