Unfortunately, this movie was a total bust. It was a great idea, but it just relied on shock humor... frankly, it's been done. My generation sees a lot of gay people,... More

What an insightful film. It makes you want to go out and save the world. It follows the real lives of a handful of young men originally from Sudan. They have had to flee their home country due to devastating civil war, and have found a refugee camp where life is less-than-glamorous. These young men are chosen to relocate to a handful of American states, and have to start life anew as working-class Americans. Their stories are extremely touching.

I was sold in an opening scene, during which one of the boys is asking about American life. He asks how Americans shower, pointing out that they must need lots of buckets to run to the river with.

Simply the way these people live their lives is incredible, but watching them start anew is fascinating. It begs a lot of questions and demand a lot of thought from you--especially if you, like me, have enjoyed a pretty comfortable American lifestyle.

Anyway. Great movie, give it a chance, even if you aren't a documentary person. It's an extremely well made film.
