Yesterday I was fortunate enough to be invited to a heavily security screened press screening of Quantum Of Solace. Marc Forster was tasked with the insurmountable challenge of creating a worthy follow up to the highly successful Casino Royale. Despite the fact that these films differ in many ways he succeeded in his mission.

The story picks up where Casion Royale ends. Bond interrogates White but not for long seeing as White's sinister organization "has people everywhere" he quickly escapes. The trail leads Bond to Camille (Olga Kurylenko) who has her own agenda and subsequently to Dominic Greene, a powerful player who seeks to control as much natural resources as he possibly can...

Quantum is the first James Bond movie that is actually a sequel and requires the knowlege of Casino Royale to fully understand Bond's motivation; for Versper's demise is a significant plot point. Motivated by revenge Bond is very angry, the film is a lot more serious, there is not one true sex scene in the film and jokes are kept to a minimum. I did like the film's fast pace but the editing of the action sequences which are btw fantastic is almost too fast to fully comprehend how some peole just died. (I'm a professional editor and I do like fast cuts but they almost overdid it)
Beautiful diverse locations - of course I'm biased - for they did shoot the 9 minute Bregenz Tosca play sequence in my home country of Austria actually I've shot some footage on location during the production back in May which you can watch here.

Daniel Craig is fantastic as Bond, while Connery was great I think Craig has been given the crown as officially the best Bond ever. Olga Kurylenko is a very beautiful Bond Girl, feisty whith her own agenda. Overall a very cool Bond film, glad the franchise recovered from these abysmal Pierce Brosnan films!!!

Yes. I was fun. I didn't like it quite as much as you, but still a very fun flick.
