A Clockwork Orange is one of the most important films of our time. It is absolutely disturbing of course but is very clever and smart. Each moment is fantastic. Of course Stanley Kubrick's direction is great. Kubrick is pure and simple genius. You also have to give Anthony Burgess credit for writing the book. The soundtrack is amazing. The performance by Malcom McDowell is a tour de force. It is one of the greatest performances given by an actor, and the character of Alex in itself is brilliant, one of the greatest villains in film. Now I know that the film has disturbed many people and many people that hate it only judge it on the rape scene not the entire film. Certain things in the film are hard to watch (especially the rape scene), but the film is also very funny in a sense. The film is split into 3 parts but they don't let you know when each part comes. The British slang in the film just makes it even better. I have to credit Malcom McDowell for having so many injuries on the film set including getting his cornea scratched which temporarily blinded him. This film should not be watched by disturbed people or people that can't handle very disturbing images. The thing that makes A Clockwork Orange disturbing is it gives you an extremely uneasy feeling that I haven't felt watching a movie. It gives you the feeling that nobody is safe no matter what we do. This is Stanley Kubrick's Masterpiece. TEN STARS!
