My anticipation level for this movie was really high. I was going into this movie ready for an action packed, entertaining war flick. Was Battle: LA like that? The answer is yes and no. Yes it had some great action and some cool shots throughout. Yes it had some dramatic parts that could leave you at the end of your seat, and yes it had a great leading performance out of Aaron Eckhart. But it didn't have a good enough supporting cast, filled with token black characters and other characters that you don't care enough about whether they live or die. No it doesn't have a good script, and I know that this is just an action movie and nitpicking isn't necessary but I expected more and some of the lines were just laughable and unforgivable. The aliens didn't even come off as a threat when they actually showed up and in the end I couldn't really get into it. So, overall Battle: Los Angeles is a film that had much potential and at the core, is a great movie but the flaws overcome the good and it becomes a huge dissapointment.
