The Hobbit film is as different from the Lord of the Rings films as the books were to each other. So the change is tone is fitting. Even so, The Hobbit never reaches the heights set by the first trilogy. Yet it benefits from fun action and a some great performances, particularly from Martin Freeman.

Sounds nice enough to go and see it. I wasn't much of a fan of the original trilogy, and never read the books, but the trailers to this one were very appealing. Greatly put, man!
