An insanely fun movie to watch. I really liked it.
This movie was banned in Ireland (Where I'm From) and so, of course I had to see it. It turned out to be another Tarantino film that absolutely rocked.
Quentin's script and Oliver Stone's direction worked out really well. The film is a crazy blend of violence, great dialogue, and psychotic motives.
Such a fun movie to watch. I look forward to a second viewing.

One of the most original and awesome horrors in recent times.
Raimi goes back to his roots and produces this all out gross tactular horror.
The story is as daft as you're likely to find, the cast does a good job and the effects are great.
I found it to be a fun, frightening ride.

Ghouls, ghosts, vampires and flaming demons. All in a day's work fro Dean and Sam Winchester.
Supernatural is a horror/sci fi/drama about 2 brothers who are searching for their father who has gone missing. On the trail to their Dad, they get sidetracked and encounter all sorts of evil.
What the show does well is give some decent scares, good special effects, and decent acting. What it fails to do, for season 1 at least is to delve into the more dramatic aspect, which made the likes of Buffy and Angel so memorable.
There are some great, although partially borrowed ideas for episodes, including a killer bride who lives in mirrors, a killer scarecrow and a hook man. Unfortunately not all the episodes are as good, and the action only really heats up towards the end of the season.
Certainly a good show, and one which I expect will get better.
Hell, remember Buffy Season 1?

One of, if not the best season of Buffy.
Has one of the best cast and character line-ups, some superb episodes, and tons of drama.
Buffy shows no sign of fading in it's 5th year.

While A Perfect Getaway falls victim to predictability and mindless violence in the last 30 minutes, it's still a fun ride which sees good looking people running for their lives and wielding knives on a tropical paradise.
The movies starts out slow and simple enough, with the main couple on their way to Hawaii for their honeymoon. As their holiday progresses, they encounter more couples, and also hear the news of some murders on the island nearby.
From here on in, the movie is a tense, mystery type film which invites you to start guessing who the killers are. Are they that weird couple we met before, or the tough, but still nice couple who we're sharing camp with? It could be anyone. The middle part of the film when we don't know who the killers are is easily the best section of the film.
When the twist kicks in, it's a shock at first, but as the chases lose their pace, so does the film, and the ending is far too boring for me.
Still, I was pleased with it overall, and was quite willing to watch a half naked Kiele Sanchez and Milla Jovovih parade through the jungle.

I was looking forward to seeing this movie for quite a while, and i suppose it didn't dissapoint. Although it's not Apatow's funniest film, it's his most real, and most clever film.
The positives are:
The cast. Funny People sees Adam Sandler back on our screens with a good movie, and it also sees Rogen in his most likable role yet. Leslie Mann does a good job too, and is much less annoying then her character in Knocked Up. The supporting cast is genius, with Jonah Hill providing some of the best lines in the film. Overall, the cast was a real hit.
The story. Unlike most of Apatow's other films, the story is not predictable. I found myself eagerly waiting to see how things turned out, which is odd for a comedy, but still enjoyable.
The jokes. Too many comedies nowadays focus on silly or slapstick comedy, which can of course be good. But Funny People is a nice change, and is a clever comedy that's not overloaded with jokes, but keeps them subtle and infrequent. It works well, as it doesn't take away from the realism of the story.
The Negatives:
The Runtime. Funny People has about 20 minutes too much runtime, which really should have been cut out. I felt myself becoming more tired and impatient, as it headed over the 2 hour mark. I feel that a shorter runtime would've benifited the film.
It's quite depressing for a comedy. I'm sort of contradicting myself here a little bit, but still, I feel that parts of the film were really dark and depressing. The film often gives a really bleak view of old age and death. Fortunately though, it never focuses too much on the aspect, and gets back to the comedy.
Overall, Funny People was a good watch, and another piece of work that Judd Apatow can be proud of.

And intense, creepy and genius thriller which sees Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins deliver their most memorable performances to date.
Watching the movie, I expected it to be more or less 'about' Hanniball. Although that's not how it turned out, he still steals the movie. Every scene the insane killer is in, is so intense and creepy, you can't wait for the next.
Foster is great too, and perfectly suited for the role of sexy, but tough officer .
The script is genius, and you'll find yourself totally engaged.
Perhaps not the 'horror' movie buffs will be looking for, but Silence of the Lambs is certainly a classic.

Much too flawed to rank among other great sea thrillers, but Adrift is still quite entertaining.
What annoyed me about the movie was several things. For one, the characters were pretty much 2-D, with no real depth or emotion, leaving us feel virtually nothing if and when they die.
Along with that, there are several let's say blunders that the writers make. For one, the characters often complain about not being able to hold themselves up, and one character even drowns. In a couple of scenes, it is clear that the characters are holding on to a support thing on the side of the boat. This is just one of several silly things in the movie, that I felt could've been amended if the script was checked.
Anyway, despite all my whining, I actually did like the film, and give it a positive rating. Mainly because what the movie does do well is simply entertain.
Nothing terribly special.
But I heard Open Water is better, so I;ll check that out.

It's not up there with Ferrell's best, or even Reilly's best, but Step Brothers can be a fun comedy if you're in the mood.
The whole movie is pretty unorginal. The script is terribly obvious, and fairly unamagintive. From the begginning, you can tell that the whole movie wil be based around immature jokes, and that's pretty much how it goes.
Although it has a few laughs, the jokes get more predictable as the film progresses.
Still, the dynamite duo of Will Ferrell John C. Reilly save the movie from what could've been a total disaster.
Some will love it, some will hate it.
I'm rather in between. Watch it and make your own mind up.

Serenity provides a good story, lots of action and tons of fun. Not actually seeing the series beforehand perhaps made the experience less enjoyable than it could've been. I can imagine that fans of the show who already know the characters well, will enjoy it much more.
Still, what the film does well is suck in people who may not have already seen the show.
I found myself getting to know the characters are the whole situation really quickly, and it soon became lots of fun.
The story itself is fairly strong. Basicly a galatic war between the Serenity ship and some Aliance.
Although it doesn't have a huge budget, the film still manages to look fairly good.
The script has trademark touches from Joss, with the jokes here and there in odd situations.
Overall, I think fans of the series will love it, and new viewers will probably love it.
Caution to non-sci fans or non-Whedonites though. They might not have such a blast.
Good movie. I look forward to seeing Firefly, the series.
