Ahh...Yes, Part 2 of my identical movie posters analysis. DUN DUN DUN!!! Well, from all the positive feedback from my first case study of this stupifying subject, I decided to further explore the disorder I call movie-identicallity-ness-ous-ion. Like I said in Part 1, we cannot resist these posters, so here they are:
First, we have the horror-jap-remake The Ring, and the superhero show Heroes. Now, I have no problem with black rings...but TWO? That's one too many!
New Name: The Heroes' Ring
Tagline: It can fit on your finger...And it's round... and dark...What is it?
Moral: Nothing good comes from black circles.
Now here we have 2 obviously affectionate similar posters. They probably did these on purpose because these 4 guys are so unique. We have the actors showcase "Five Minutes in Heaven" and the Travolta/Cage action movie " Face Off ". These two posters are very identical as you can see.
New Name: The Five-Minute Face Off
Tagline: They will become each other, for five minutes...
Moral: No Moral Here, because you can't go wrong with Travolta/Cage/Neeson/Nesbitt all in one. Or can you?
Now, we have some old throwback posters. Now, take a look at these. The vampire horror flick "Fright Night" and the comedic " Return of the Living Dead Part 2". Since when were clouds so swirly? And when did they start having sharp teeth? I DON'T KNOW!
New Name: Return of Fright Night PART 2!!!
Tagline: They are lurking in the sky...
Moral: Always make sure to stay inside during fright night, or the living dead will return...
Now, this next analysis pissed me off. I loved Gothika, but I hated Captivity with all my heart and soul. So Gothika , which was made way before Captivity, has it's poster idea taken by a sh*t movie. Just look at the despicable theft of a movie poster. This is a severe case of movie-identicallity-ness-ous, and I pray for it's removal. Observe :
New Name: Cap-thika
Tagline: Trapped in a glass box...
Moral: Damn it, don't make shitty movies (Captivity) that copy good movie posters (Gothika).
Exhibit E ( LOL)
Now here we have an amusing to posters. The thriller "Identity" and horror remake "House on Haunted Hill" They are dead similar, but for the better because both poster work on their own. Still, I wonder if the people who designed these posters knew that they were totally mooching off of another movie.
New Name: The Identity of the House on Haunted Hill
Tagline: DON'T PUT YOUR HAND THERE!
Moral: Do NOT go to haunted hills, and we must protect our identity.
This one really had me smiling at the sheer corny-ness of it all. Just look at it. Self-explanatory.
New Name: Drag Me Beneath
Tagline: There's always something trying to bring you down.
Moral: Watch where you walk, because a pair of hands may be lurking...
Now, my last analysis hits home, because I absolutely love The Lake House. Looking at Dear John's movie poster, the Sparks' romance movie I will most likely never see, I noticed a stark similarity. Two couples, close to each other. I bear no grudge, however, because Nicholas Sparks movies need good poster ideas because most of them suck.
So I hope these posters have satisfied you all. Rate and Comment, tell me what you think. And maybe part 3 will come around if your not already sick of seeing these poster :P
P.S. Let me just remind you all of my favorite identical movie poster :
My Work is done. ( For Now...)
